| Doctor Terpenning received her BA with honors from Douglass College (Rutgers University) in 1971. She has her M.D. from Washington University School of Medicine. Her internship and residency were at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Internal Medicine. She had a Fellowship at UCLA Center for the Health Sciences in Hematology/Oncology, and Cellular Immunology. She is Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCLA School of Medicine. | |

| From 1982-1988, Doctor Terpenning was in full time academic practice on the faculty of UCLA School of Medicine, carrying out research in basic tumor immunology and psychoneuroimmunology. She served as Director of Hematology and Oncology Clinics at a UCLA affiliated teaching hospital. In 1988, she established an academic private practice in Santa Monica. She is an investigator on numerous clinical research protocols and is a member of UCLA-Community Oncology Research Network. She was a Founding participant and continues to participate in the Revlon-UCLA Breast Center Women's Cancer Program. For the past nine years Doctor Terpenning's focus has been the establishment of an academic private practice in hematology and oncology with an emphasis on comprehensive patient care in a supportive setting. Her academic and research goals are education, treatment and rehabilitation of individuals diagnosed with cancer. Doctor Terpenning sees a need for increased awareness of the importance for screening for colon cancer and also development of educational models for young men and women on the danger of excess sun exposure and cigarette smoking. Doctor Terpenning is a member of the American College of Physicians, Southern Calif. Academy of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology,American Medical Women's Association, LA County Medical Asso., and the California Medical Association, and has received numerous honors for her work as a physician. She has been listed in Who's Who of American Women. | |
