During the course of his medical career, Doctor Tyler has cared for a large
number of adults of all ages, including a substantial group of geriatric
and nursing home patients. He currently serves as Medical Director at Marycrest
Manor, one of the finest convalescent facilities in town. These experiences
with the elderly have afforded him the opportunity to experience the specific
needs and problems of this group, which includes not only their medical
problems, but also the social, economic and emotional issues and anxieties
of aging. Doctor Tyler, through this vast experience, has developed a special knack of dealing with patient and their families because he is well aware of the issues they face. |

Practice
Philosophy
|
|
| While the American healthcare system has changed dramatically over the past dozen years, Doctor Tyler does not feel that the emphasis on "tough-minded business" is such a good thing. He has attempted to develop a medical practice which is more like the way things were. He works as a solo practitioner in a cozy office on the Westside of town, across the street from Westside Pavilion. He and his staff try to keep things on a personal level, avoiding HMO medicine, and keeping his emphasis on quality rather than quantity. His patients know they can take their time and will have his undivided attention. The personal connection with his patients is important, and he keeps himself available, returning every phone call. Emergency patients are always seen the same day they call. He feels that with the rapid advances in technology, it is best to use the opportunity to provide top quality care to his patients. | |
